Chino Bandido

Chino Bandido Takee-Outee has earned a cult following among food enthusiasts in the valley and across the country since its establishment in November 1990. Founded and still operated by Frank and Eve Collins, Chino Bandido combines traditional flavors from Mexican and Asian cuisines, reflecting Eve’s Chinese heritage and their shared local roots as native Arizonans, with a touch of Jamaican flair for added variety.

What Makes Chino Bandido a Community Builder?

Chino Bandido has been a beloved local restaurant for many families since the mid-90s, when they first visited its original location at 19th Ave and Greenway. Founders and owners Frank and Eve Lee Collins started it as a small establishment that grew steadily as more diners discovered it, adorning the walls with photos of their children and returning time and again for Chino’s unique blend of Chinese and Mexican cuisine. It has truly become a cult favorite among food enthusiasts in the valley and across the country. One of the family favorites is the Emerald Chicken. The restaurant gained even more recognition when Food Network’s Guy Fieri featured it multiple times on his show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, helping to spread its fame nationwide. Today, fans of Chino Bandido can be found all over the country. The new location at 310 W. Bell is a popular destination for many, including those whose children and grandchildren love to visit, take photos with the “pand-ito” in the corner, and enjoy a snickerdoodle for dessert. Although Frank has passed away, Eve continues to own the restaurant, with her brother Eddie Lee managing it.
